BioRaw™️ Baobab Fruit Powder

Baobab Fruit Powder

Source & Origin

  • Source: Baobab powder is derived from the fruit of the baobab tree (Adansonia digitata), also known as the “Tree of Life.”

  • Origin: Native to Africa, especially sub-Saharan regions, though the baobab also grows in Madagascar and parts of Australia.

The fruit naturally dries on the tree, and the pulp is harvested and ground into a fine powder.

 Health Benefits

Baobab powder is considered a superfood due to its high nutrient content. Key benefits include:

  1. Rich in Vitamin C – Supports immune function and collagen production.

  2. High in Fiber – Aids digestion and gut health (soluble and insoluble fiber).

  3. Antioxidants – Protect cells from oxidative stress (more than blueberries or acai).

  4. Prebiotic Properties – Feeds beneficial gut bacteria.

  5. Minerals – Good source of calcium, potassium, and magnesium.

  6. May Help Regulate Blood Sugar – Due to fiber and polyphenols.

  7. Anti-inflammatory Properties – Due to presence of polyphenols.

 Recommended Use

  • Dosage: 1–2 teaspoons (approx. 5–10 grams) per day is common.

  • How to Use:

    • Mix into smoothies, yogurt, or juice

    • Stir into oatmeal or cereal

    • Bake into bars or muffins

    • Add to water with lemon for a refreshing drink

Start small to assess tolerance, especially if new to high-fiber foods.

 FDA Caution / Regulation

  • GRAS Status: Baobab powder is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the U.S. FDA for use in foods and beverages.

  • However:

    • The FDA does not evaluate or approve supplements for health claims unless formally reviewed.

    • Avoid unsubstantiated therapeutic claims (e.g., “cures cancer” or “treats diabetes”)—these can violate FDA regulations.

    • Quality may vary by manufacturer—choose products that are third-party tested.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a healthcare provider before use.
